About The Big Event at KU

Group of students standing with Big Jay on the day of service.

The ninth annual Big Event is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2019.

The Big Event is a non-need based student group that connects the KU campus with the Lawrence community. By recruiting thousands of student, faculty, and staff volunteers to work at hundreds of local job sites during one day of service, we are able to say thank you to the community that surrounds us all year. The Big Event volunteers provide a helping hand to Lawrence residents by completing projects in their neighborhoods.

  1. I have had KU students help with yard work the last 2 years(well not last year as it had to be canceled). As a senior citizen I have really appreciated the students work. I wonder if I will be contacted again.

  2. Hey, I volunteered for the mini big event and have been trying to record my service hours on rockchalkreview.com but I can’t seem to find the email that I would use for you guys to verify that I did it. Does anyone know where I can find that email?

    1. Hi Richard! We will have the forms open soon! Our students just returned to campus from break and are working on getting everything open.
